Pencil’s fine art reproductions can be found in museums and galleries nationally and have sold world-wide. Our large format printers including a 64 inch Epson 11880, allow us to accommodate clients that have some highly specialized needs. Pencil is currently printing museum giclée reproductions as large as 6X4 feet. Pencil In The River Studio has been owned and operated by Lisa Langer since 1989 producing photography and advertising materials for commercial and industrial companies in Western New York State. At the forefront of technology Pencil was one of the first photographic houses to use high end scan backs in the Buffalo/Niagara region. Pencil began using its scan back with a production 4X5 camera and specialty lighting to digitally capture fine art work for the new wave of on-demand giclée digital printing. We became increasingly known for our ability to produce outstanding digital imaging files for pre-press houses and printing companies. This helped us to develop a client base in the art reproduction field and to begin educating artists in the region as to the economic benefits of giclée reproductions. Pencil has a sterling reputation in the art community and works with clients to produce digital files and fine art giclée reproductions that can be seen worldwide. Its services have recently expanded beyond digital imaging and reproductions to include, video, web portfolios, CD presentations and many forms of marketing materials. Media Education has always been a part of Pencil’s services and it currently partners with the Carnegie (not-for-profit). Lisa Langer teaches out of Pencil’s facility and allows other instructors to be paid to teach media programming using Pencil’s facility and equipment, further contributing to the economic development in the region and the arts. Our steady growth is a testament to its dedication to keep pace with a changing economic landscape where technological advances can make or break a business. Pencil has a fierce dedication to the arts and its business is known for its integrity within the community it serves.
